I have decades of experience as an accountant and a professor of accounting, economics, history and even rhetoric. :-) I've been tutoring since third grade, and I've tutored math, accounting, economics, finance, history and rhetoric.

I Love Tutoring Because

I love helping students one-on-one. I started tutoring on 3rd grade when a buddy of mine would come back to our homeroom and ask for help with arithmetic. I tutored him in math from 3rd grade through 8th grade and four years of high school. Then I tutored him in accounting for two semesters in college. It was always just fun! Imagine getting paid to play your favorite sport, or to go shopping, or to do whatever else you love to do! That's tutoring for me. :-)

We spent an hour on the session and were able to calculate three numbers in that period of time. I thought it would be much quicker. The total I needed did not make sense so I was not able to determine if my calculations were incorrect or the information he provided was incorrect.

I thought that the tutor wasn't very helpful. He could've pulled up the assignment and looked through it with me versus just telling me to just go through the ledger. I just didn't feel like he understood why I was confused.

The session began with the tutor telling me her shift ended in a few minutes. Then once she attempted to help me decided that I needed to be transferred because it would take too long. Then once transferred the help I received was slowly trickling in. We only finished half of a problem before he says your school only allows 20 mins and we have 4. mins left. I came in really excited to get the help with my hw, but was very disappointed this time. :-(
