Located in Houston, Texas Southern University’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business is known for its “strong faculty” and “great connections,” as well as “flexible class schedules,” “small classroom sizes,” and affordable price. The school boasts “one of the most diverse faculties in the nation,” and the U.S. government recently designated Texas Southern University “as a National Transportation Security Center of Excellence (NTSCE).” “The greatest strength of my school,” says one student, “is that it is a well known university with competitive programs such as Pharmacy, Business, and Law.”

Students at TSU enjoy a good “student-to-professor ratio” and find that “professors are really helpful inside and outside class.” Students praise the “high quality of experienced professors who are always willing to share their knowledge and experiences,” and note that the “curriculum forces you to use your critical thinking ability,” a valuable skill that endures long after graduation. “This program forces you to look at situations objectively,” says ones student, and the diversity of the program encourages students to consider “multiple viewpoints” and “be educated on different cultures.” The business school invites “various speakers to come and speak” regularly. Professors and staff take “the time out to help you and point you in the right direction” and “don’t let you give up.” They want to “see you succeed and will bend their backs to help you do so,” notes a student from the Class of 2016. The “professors are tough, but it aids us into becoming successful in the future,” notes a student in the healthcare industry. Students consider their fellow classmates to be as important to their education as their professors. Classroom debates encourage students to show their “individual strength,” and teamwork encourages students to help each other and network among the student body. “Everyone that I have worked with in group assignments is very friendly and helpful,” notes one student. They are a “great groups of individuals to work with!!” Students roundly praise not only their professors and fellow students, but also the “group-oriented” nature of the school. TSU is a great fit for students looking for an affordable MBA in a diverse and supportive environment.
