Career Experience
I taught high school English for 3 years. After some health issues required me to take a step back from the classroom, I was lucky enough to get a non-partisan position as an indexer with the state senate, which allows me to use my English skills in a practical way. I have tutored for several programs where I worked with first generation college students to help them adjust to college level work and where I worked with ESL learners at various levels of understanding to help them grow their understanding of the English language.
I Love Tutoring Because
I like the 1-on-1 and small group atmosphere and really being able to give attention to students. I work hard to foster good relationships with my students and love helping students find the joy in reading, writing, and history that I have found over the years.
