Career Experience

For the last ten years I have worked as a college English professor. Before that I was a substitute teacher, and I tutored high school kids in the AVID program.

I Love Tutoring Because

I really enjoy teaching students how to express themselves via the written word. The moment when a student goes from not being able to express a thought to finding the right wording is something I never tire of. Tutoring allows for this one-on-one experience that isn't always possible in a full classroom setting.

My tutor was very helpful! He knew how to ask me the right questions. I am very unfamiliar with computers and didn't even know the correct lingo to say to ask.I probably was confusing him with the way I asked my questions. He completely answered my questions. I feel I have a clear understanding and can do my learning a whole lot better. Thank you for the help it really will make differences for students to have this available. Some of us old folks just haven't been on computers long enough to get very tech savvy. You have definitely helped one today.
