Career Experience

I've worked in both the public and private sectors over the course of my career, having started out with a company providing electronic home monitoring services to probation clients (I was essentially a private probation officer). I then moved on to more analytically focused work, first as a financial intelligence analyst with a large money service business (think money orders and wire transfers) where I conducted anti-money laundering and terrorist financing investigations, then to a large retailer where I spent time developing risk models for their corporate security team and also provided intelligence support to special investigators in the field. I'm currently a senior research analyst with a law enforcement agency where I provide crime and intelligence analysis.

I Love Tutoring Because

I get a lot of satisfaction seeing someone have the "ah ha!" moment when it finally clicks and they get it. Being able to help guide them to that moment is what I enjoy doing. I've been helped quite a bit along my academic and professional career, and I like to pay it forward, so to speak.

Right about 30 mins, the tutor stopped responding. I stayed on for an additional 11 mins hoping he would reply. I wasted 11 mins of my tutoring waiting for a reply. I don't know if I am limited to 30 min blocks. But the feed said it was live and he was still showing in the link. I don't know if it was buggy.

This tutor told me that I should meet with a writing tutor instead, its kind of confusing to differentiate which tutor you will be connected with. He did complete my session, but suggested I meet with another tutor for formatting, citations, etc. so now I have to do another session.

The only thing I don't like about this program is it opened a new window. I totally lost track of the call on my first try and the first tutor hung up as he thought I wasn't there. Not his fault.
