Career Experience
I was a writing consultant at my university for two years. This role combined duties of tutoring and consulting, as I gave writing help to college students during any part of the writing process and for any kind of writing project. I was also a writing fellow, which meant that I gave weekly presentations to level-one English students on varying concepts such as utilizing correct MLA formatting or constructing an effective thesis statement. Further, I have experience as an editor for a nationally distributed online literary magazine.
I Love Tutoring Because
it combines my passions of reading, writing, editing, and helping people. It brought me so much joy and fulfillment to help my peers with their writing while I attended university. Through my experience as a writing consultant, I have learned that writing is not just about a product; in fact, it is more often about the process! I enjoy helping make that process less complicated and less daunting to students, as they are often more skilled than they realize.
